Welcome! Thanks for visiting my little blog. It’s been a while since I regularly posted. It was a rough spring and the summer was very busy (read previous post to see why). I’m trying to get back into it, so I thought it would be a good idea to share a little about me and what I’m doing here!
Here are some stats on me:
Business & Technology Teacher: 9 years
I’ve just started my 10th year at Mansfield High School. The years are flying by quickly!
Colleges attended: 4
BSBA in Accounting/Computer Information Systems from Stonehill College
MBA in Marketing from Marist College
MEd in Curriculum and Instructional Technology from Framingham State University
Certificate in Online Teaching and Learning from Endicott College
* I would love to add a 5th to this list. It’s a personal goal of mine to pursue a doctorate!
Professional Passions: too many!
I’m very involved in several areas and I love that I don’t have to pick just one. My passions are STEAM (science-technology-engineering-arts-math), educational technology, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and 21st century learning (namely hands-on real-world learning experiences).
Best year: 2015
This has been the year of Mrs. Prester! I am proud to be named the 2015 Massachusetts Business Teacher of the Year by the MBEA. I won a Leavey Award for my promotion of entrepreneurship in the classroom and will be accepting my award at a ceremony in New Orleans in November! I was also elected as the next Treasurer of the MassCUE board of directors. It’s been a great year and those are the top stories. I am honored and humbled by the good fortune . . . and have some things up my sleeve for 2016!
Children: 1, 2, and many
I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that I am a mama. My son is starting the exciting adventure called kindergarten. I have 2 Star Wars named cats (Wicket and Kneesaa). And I do consider my students a very important part of my life, hence the “many.”
