After the frenzy of shopping for several days in a row, why not celebrate a day of giving? Five years ago, Giving Tuesday was born.
Created by the team at the Belfer Center for Innovation & Social Impact at the 92nd Street Y—a cultural center in New York City that, since 1874, has been bringing people together around the values of service and giving back—#GivingTuesday connects diverse groups of individuals, communities and organizations around the world for one common purpose: to celebrate and encourage giving. A team of influencers and founding partners joined forces, collaborating across sectors, offering expertise and working tirelessly, to launch #GivingTuesday and have continued to shape, grow and strengthen the movement.
If you happen to be looking for a way to give on this special day, please consider donating to my students and their efforts to raise money for local charities through entrepreneurship. My students run small businesses throughout the year to gain experience as entrepreneurs, but also to donate all of their proceeds to local organizations of their choice. They become entrepreneurs and philanthropists. They learn the importance of running a business AND giving back to the community!
Thank you for your consideration!
